Plucked right out of cosmetology school, Full Bloom owner Hannah Mills began working as a stylist at the Savannah-based Hustle & Blow Dry Bar in 2017. She made fast friends with all of her coworkers, and during her first two years there, Hustle & Blow grew from a blow-out bar that specialized in styling for events and weddings to a salon that was just beginning to offer cut and color services. Hannah developed a passion for and expertise in all things BLONDE, and she started building a loyal client base.
One day in 2019, Hustle & Blow’s owner approached Hannah and asked if she would be interested in buying the salon. Hannah initially hesitated because she was only 20 years old, but after talking it through, she decided to do it. Hannah became the new owner of Hustle & Blow Dry Bar in November 2019.
However, within a matter of months, the coronavirus had become a global pandemic. After months of shelter-in-place, health and safety guidelines, and more…Hannah knew that to stay relevant and in demand, she needed to augment Hustle & Blow’s business model by increasing the salon’s offerings. She began augmenting cut and color services to complement styling, and clients responded with resounding support. Make-up services came next, along with selling locally made skincare and beauty products. Finally, Hannah expanded the KEVIN.MURPHY product lines carried in the salon and began investing in her stylists’ continuing education with the KEVIN.MURPHY program.
Hannah always stayed true to Hustle & Blow’s commitment to the environment as Savannah's first—and only—certified sustainable salon, diverting 95% of its daily waste out of landfills and waterways and into repurposed tools and green energy.
By the end of 2020 and throughout 2021, Hustle & Blow was fully booked and busier than ever. At this time, Hannah realized that Hustle & Blow had become MUCH bigger than the dry bar it had started out as. It was time for the brand to reflect that growth as well as its commitment to the environment. To reflect this new “bloom-to-bottle salon,” Hannah made the decision to rebrand and move the business to Pooler in Spring 2022. As our name now reflects, our salon has grown and matured into a full-service, luxury beauty destination for our clients.
